The best of both
The green debate is no longer about ecology vs. economy. The challenge is simply to employ solutions for managing network power consumption.

Greening Your Infrastructure
Becoming a more responsible citizen no longer means having to sacrifice or pay a premium. Going green in IT can have a positive, material effect on your business’s bottom line.
AT TSG, we both sell and use environmentally-friendly equipment designed to reduce both carbon footprint and operating expense. Little things mean a lot. The right equipment, some staff education, a little creative thinking and you have just made a difference.
We will also help you find any rebates to be earned for improving energy efficiency.
May we help you clean your storage room?
As a free service to our valued Clients, TSG will arrange to pick up and responsibly recycle any and all e-waste that naturally accumulates over the life of a business. All we need from you is an estimate on the size of the truck to send.
Email your request to recycleassist@tsgnetworks.com or give us a call at 510.525.6210 to arrange a pickup. We'll be right there!
10 Easy Ways Your Business Can Go Green
Go green by:
1. Turning off equipment when it's not being used. This can reduce the energy used by 25 percent; turning off the computers at the end of the day can save an additional 50 percent. Those of you on our managed services programs have sometimes been asked to leave your computers on at night to get patches and security updates.
2. Encouraging communications by email, and reading email messages onscreen to determine whether it's necessary to print them. If it's not, don't! Use folders just like files so that you can off load your email from the mail server and still not waste paper.
3. Producing double-sided documents whenever possible. When buying a new printer, buy one that does duplexing.
4. Not leaving water taps dripping; always close them tightly after use. (One drop wasted per second wastes 10,000 liters per year.)
5. Installing displacement toilet dams in toilet reservoirs. Placing one or two plastic containers filled with stones (not bricks) in the toilet's reservoir will displace about 4 liters of water per flush - a huge reduction of water use over the course of a year.
6. Finding a supply of paper with maximum available recycled content.
7. Choosing suppliers who take back packaging for reuse.
8. Instigating an ongoing search for "greener" products and services in the local community. The further your supplies or service providers have to travel, the more energy will be used to get them to you.
9. Before deciding whether you need to purchase new office furniture, see if your existing office furniture can be refurbished. It's less expensive than buying new and better for the environment.
10. Check into Cloud computing so that the next time you refresh your servers, you can move them into the cloud.
